A Family's Vision.

‘We fell head over heels in love with Barraston the minute we saw it. Our vision was to create a fabulous family house in a rural setting – but close to the city – with a fantastic space for others to enjoy. The end result? A dream family home for me and Andy plus our kids Harrison and Beau, 3 dogs – Roxy, Max and Krystle Carrington, Beau’s ponies – Truffles and Cindy, 2 pet sheep – Coco and Bob alongside an ever growing menagerie of goats, ducks, geese, peacocks and even more sheep! Along the way, we’ve also created a thriving business and it’s brought us all so much closer as a family.

We bought the farm in November 2022 and renovations started straight away. We had an incredible team of tradesmen headed up by Steve the builder, Fraser the spark, and Ian the plumber, ably assisted by Andy the labourer. What a crew! We’ve always loved an adventure project and that’s exactly what we got. It was a bit of a white knuckle ride at times but the team’s skill, coupled with Clare’s incredible eye for design and superb project management, completely transformed the house, cottage, out-buildings and surrounding land, and Barraston is now a thriving Airbnb, welcoming guests from all over the world.

We absolutely love kids, animals, parties and entertaining – not necessarily in that order! – and we’ve made everything at Barraston the way we’d like it to be if we were booking into premium accommodation. We’ve created a super stylish home from home with very special touches – from an on-site wood fired hot tub and sauna for relaxing and chilling, to a party barn with its own bar, pool table and a fabulous mirror-ball and lighting – and we’d love to share it all with you!

Lately we’ve branched out into hosting weddings, corporate and hospitality events – think golf tours, whisky tasting, product launches, private dinners and more – and we’re so chuffed that the diary is already filling up for next year.
So far, it’s been an absolute blast! We’re really looking forward to the next part of our journey and to welcoming you to Barraston!’
